General information:

This form:  This form and the required photo will be sent to host families in France, thus the need for a clean printed copy and a photo, digital or print.  Other forms and payments are processed by the Office of International Programs.  See below.

Program costs:  The fees for the 2009 program are  $4, 600.00, plus $300 course registration ($50 per credit hr., in-state or out-of-state).  Since this is a regular academic program of WVU, scholarships and financial aid are generally applicable to the trip.  The program fees cover transportation and accommodations in France, two meals/day (one/day in Paris), and numerous fiield trips and excursions (12-14 excursions in all, in Paris, Vendée, the Loire Valley).    Air fare and personal expenses are not included.  Thanks to generous WVU alumni and friends, special scholarship funds have been set aside to provide partial support to qualified WVU students.  Contact the Drs. Payment schedule:  Regular applications and deposits are due by January 16, 2009, and will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis beginning beginning December 1, 2008.    Processing for later applications  will continue until all places are filled (max 20 participants).  Applications after Jan. 16, 2009 should be accompanied by any deposits or fees due at the time.  Program dates for summer 2009:  Wednesday May 27 to Wednesday July 1, 2008.  No return flights should be scheduled before July 2, 2008.

* Space in WVU-V is limited to 20 students.  Applicants should have completed six hours of French language/culture courses beyond the intermediate level with a grade of B or better.  Qualified majors or minors in French at WVU and other colleges will be accepted upon reception of this form (with photo), and the initial deposit.  If space is not available or if it is deemed that you need further preparation before participating in WVU-V, your initial deposit will be fully refunded.  The budget is based on a minimum of 12 participants.  Your deposit will be refunded if enrollment does not meet expectations.

You may submit the form electronically, but no official acceptance may occur without receipt of the initial deposit by and photo (which will be sent to host families in France).  If you have a good scanner or digital camera, the photo may also be submitted electronically by email to mlasting@wvu.edu.
