As we head to our next rendez-vous, we pass by one of the world's first nuclear power plants (Chinon). France ran out of coal decades ago, and it has practically no petroleum. The nuclear policy derives partly from that. Some oppose, but now that the atmosphere seems to be seriously compromised by hydrocarbons, even some former opponents are changing their minds. Not a topic for a friendly dinner conversation, though.
