June 16: Fishes and Tigers or Vendée at the Limits
Clemenceau is a major figure in moving France from a monarchy to a republic, in eliminating the imperialism of Napoleon, and in winning WWI over Germany (reclaiming Alsace and Lorraine for France). Perhaps his greatest work was done in the Dreyfus affair where he fought anti-semitism and then brought about religious equaliy for Christians, Jews, Muslms, and non-believers.
