For lunch, we're headed for another age entirely, and another rock. In Avrillé, we stand by the largest "menhir" in Vendée. Most of these pagan monuments were destroyed as the land was converted to Christianity. Many were used as foundations for the new churches that replaced the old beliefs. This "standing stone" is indeed a marvel from times long, long ago.
