Carrying Coal to Newcastle...

The chapel of this village has a new set of glasswork, taken from the work of the mines themselves.  The hammer and the pick held together by the sacred heart are an emblem of the faith that helped these miner face the incredible depths to which they descended:  often over 500 meters below the surface.  This is another powerful link through ages.  Many miners here faced their hardship through both music and faith.
