Carrying Coal to Newcastle...

Faymoreau is the site of what was once a very productive set of coal mines.  This is the "salles des pendus".  In French that means the "hanged-men's room".  That's not because the men were hanged here, but it is where they hung their clothes after their descent into the mines.
