Eleanor of Aquitaine was the granddaughter of William IX of Aquitaine. He was the first real troubadour of the middle ages, and the music of that time was as great a part of the spirit and force of the age as was the architecture. The stones in these churches tell the history of the music that was integral to the life and spirit of the age. This old bagpipe is modeled after the sculptures in the churches of this region.
