Sunnyside ... on the Isle of Black

This is the Plage des Dames.  I've heard two explanations for the name of this beach.  One is that this was the beach reserved for ladies ("dames") when the railroads first brought modern tourism to this island in the 19th century.  The other is that, long before Philbert brought his religion to this island, this is where the druidesses of ancient Celtic religions came to dance and practice their faith.  Philbert and his like were quick to call these older ceremonies "witchcraft".  The Vikings were cruel and ruthless, but just think of what happened to these ladies when the church and its Inquisition came after them...
