In the end we make it, though. Here we're met in Les Sables d'Olonne by one of the pillars of WVU-V, Madame Grandpierre (center). From the beginning she has coordinated our work with host families and students. You'll know this soon enough, but she works miracles and the families she arranges for us are one of the most important parts of the story our students will tell when they get back home. I should note also the other pillars in this picture. Madame Gaumery (left of Madame Grandpierre) and Madame Atayi (to her right). You'll recognize also Dr. V. adjusting her glasses as we get ready to unite student and host family.
