Gardens and Gore

These holes are actually for pigeons.  Each family of nobles held a number of pigeons corresponding to its holdings in land.  Located in the central "cour d'honneur" where only the family and honored friends were invited, this is one sign of the wealth and prestige of the lords of this elegant country manor.
