The name of this plant was not in our notebook, but the French call it "genęt". For us Vendéens, we know it as the plant that William the Conqueror's family came to use as their emblem. Thus Henri II PlantaGENĘT gave the name to a dynasty that ruled England and this part of France for centuries. |
