Blue Skies o'er Blackminster

The haystack furnished food for animals and building materials for their masters.  The stack is a favorite subject of painters like Monet, but here it's both a work of art and a means of life.  The "liens" or simple ropes around the hay protect the stack from the hazards of weather so frequent this near the sea and the swamp.  Jessika's work on the previous page has its purpose in this precious stack of hay.
