To the South of Vendée...

Another of my famous "motion pictures".  This is of the statue of Cardinal Richelieu, famous to many through the Three Musketeers, etc.  His role in France was in part that of reducing the power of any who resisted the authority of his king, Louis XIII.  He started right here in Luçon, Vendée by bringing the Protestants in his region under control.  He would then move on to Paris and effect the same maneuvre throughout all of France.
