Today is the first official day of WVU-V! 2004. Several of us have been here for a day or few. One or two will fly in to Charles de Gaulle Airport this morning. All of us plan to meet at the Pyramid of the Louvre at 1500 hours -- that means 3:00 pm, but here every one gives official time on a 24-hour clock. Dr. Valérie and I have come in from Les Sables on an early morning train. We stop by the hotel, drop off our bags, and race toward our rendez-vous. On the way through Paris we run into a sub-group of Vendéens, already in the neighborhood of the Louvre Museum. |
