After a phone conversation early (too early...) with Dr. Lastinger (the other one), I was able to ascertain that all is well in the city of Lights, and no one seems to miss my presence too much. The hotel, I was told, is beyond all the expectations with very nice amenities (but, obviously, no phone connection for the internet). Every one is well and eager to speak French. A few Vendéens complained that the guide spoke too much English, and it does my heart good to see how dedicated and motivated our students are this year. With such an attitude, they will definitely succeed.
Today also marks the arrival of the last two Vendéens, Emily Rodgers and Andy Lattal. I will keep you posted as I hear more.
