The revolution of the ages is something we witness daily in this magical land.
As we contemplate a reality that surpasses any one place and one time, we know
we are in a Vendée that has lived through many millenniums of our humanity.
As we take the Vendée-Mobile back to Les Sables, however, we have more mundane
interests at heart (and again, I do mean HEART). One of the villages we
pass through is famous throughout France for the quality of its "brioche" -- a
special kind of bread made famous in part by Marie-Antoinette's quote and
mistranslated as "Let them eat cake." Jessica is one of the first served
and all look on enviously in the hope that there will be a little "brioche"
left for the other starving peasants.
