Leonardo's house was a dependency of the castle of Amboise and it is there
that his tomb is located. This special chapel was built to house the
final resting place of a great man of the Renaissance.
At the end of the
Hundred Years War the castle of Amboise, like Chinon, was a favorite of the
French kings. It was indeed an honor that they chose this site for the
tomb of their favorite guest from Italy.
