We'll spend our morning with Jean-Baptiste, who introduces us to the "logis"
of La Chabotterie. The logis is a special kind of farm that evolved in
the early days of the 1500's. One special trait of the logis is the
close proximity of nobles and peasants in everyday life. This lifestyle
would serve all well for two centuries and would be of special consequence
when the Revolution came in the late 1700's. While peasants rose up
against the nobility all over France, the peasants here would have none of it.
They in fact were far more outraged by the new government than by the old.
