The Isle of Noirmoutier

We're lucky in that our trip to the island is planned for low tide.  We can therefore take the Gois, a road built on the bottom of the sea.  This unique passage is open twice a day and twice a day it is closed by the tides that rush in so fast that each year several cars (and sometimes some people) are lost to the sea.  Not to worry, though.  We have the tides charted just right to make our passage safely out to the island.
