Blue Skies, Nothing but ...

A major innovation in Gothic architecture was the flying buttress which took the weight of the structure to the outside allowing the vaults to go ever higher and the windows to grow ever bigger.  It's been a wonderful visit and Madame Benoist has guided us masterfully.  Now it's time for lunch and we'll all meet soon near the pyramid of the Louvre.
