Blue Skies, Nothing but ...

Dagobert was the last powerful leader of the Merovingian dynasty.  His children would fail to stop the progress northward of that other great religion, Islam.  Unable to organize a successful campaign against the Muslim armies advancing through France, the last Merovingians turned the task over to Charles Martel who won a decisive victory near Poitiers in the 732 AD.  Christian Europe was saved and soon Charles Martel's grandson Charlemagne would rule the entire Christian world.
