Of all the sports and crafts practiced at the Puy du Fou my own favorite is falconry.

As you know, firearms did not exist in Europe before the Renaissance.  Even long after, muskets were hardly a reliable means of bringing down game at a distance.   For large animals, the arrow was often sufficient.  For smaller prey, however, nothing was more dependable than a well trained bird. The skill of the falconers today shows amply well the efficiency of such a method.
