This project involves several stages. First of all, after a time of observation and reflection, students must choose a topic to pursue. The object then is to find information on the ground -- and not simply in books -- that can give them direct insight into the questions they develop. Their field interview is then carefully prepared and conducted. With the information they have obtained from their interviews around Les Sables, they are now ready for their preliminary oral report. The next step will be developing their findings into a coherent paper which they will turn in upon their return to the US. |
