Since our program is both linguistic and cultural in nature, all our visits are generally conducted in French. A slight glitch occurred today, however. The people at Blois, noting that we were American, reserved us a guide who spoke English. Immediate reactions among our students vary from relief to despair. For some it's been a bit hard to follow along when French guides speak at their own rhythm. For others, the switch back to English seems equally painful. It's a wonderful visit nonetheless. |
