High times on High Street.

Fontevraud possesses many architectural wonders, not the least of which is this grandiose "oven".  The design is unique in the world, and many suspect it was inspired by the works discovered by medieval crusaders returning from the Holy Land.

As we leave the kitchens of Fontevraud, we spend a few special moments in the gardens which recreate those of the 12th century.  Some of the plants we see cause a bit of a stir among our Vendéens.  Hemp, for example, which was a common plant in medieval Europe is still grown here.  As we know, that plant is now illegal in the United States.  No high times here, though.  The variety of hemp used for rope and cloth has none of the properties of its sister cannabis plants.
