The Longest Day . . .

Our next visit is one of the most interesting we have experienced.  Few Americans know of General De Lattre de Tassigny, but he, along with General Dwight Eisenhauer signed the treaty that ended World War II.  He was born in the small Vendée village of Mouillerons-en-Pareds, the same village that gave birth to President Georges Clemenceau who a generation earlier had signed the Treaty of Versailles ending World War I.
