The Longest Day . . .

Serious business begins today at the Eco-Musée of Vendée, a part of the magnificent Puy du Fou which we will visit again next week.  Our guide today is Élodie.  She is a novice and we are proud to be the first group in her young career.

She begins the visit with an overview of the castle of Le Puy du Fou, which dates back to the 13th century.  Destroyed in the Hundred Years War, the ruins we see here are from the Renaissance and were reduced to this state by the Vendée Wars of the Revolutionary era.
