The Restaurant du Menhir takes its name from the stone you see here, the Menhir du Roi, as some call it. In any case it is certainly a king-sized rock... I should note that each of these stones, as well as the menhirs, are oriented. Here I mean the term literally. They all have a face or a door that is fixed toward the east -- that is the "orient". This orientation is also a feature of the Romanesque and Gothic churches we have visited. |
