A special feature of the Abbey of Nieul is the modern illuminations that help us understand the meaning of medieval art. Here we see a reproduction of an actual Romanesque carving. The subject is the baby Moses who is being placed in a basket on the river to save him from death at the hands of the Pharoah. |
