Here we see the entry to the port from the Atlantic. In years past this port was coveted by pirates, by the English, by the Spanish, and by both sides during the civil wars between Catholic and Protestant. The remnants of the old fort d'Arundel, to the right, attest to a past that is not quite gone with the wind. |
