The gardens at the heart of Les Sables are a favorite playground for children like our Lucie.  In addition to the monument to heroes of war are those to heroes of culture.  This statue evokes one of the favorite poems of all French children -- and adults.  It's the "Wolf and the Lamb" or "Le Loup et l'Agneau", a famous fable by France's most famous children's poet, Jean de La Fontaine, a contemporary of the Sun King, Louis XIV.
