Welcome to the Department of History

As a unit of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences the Department of History at West Virginia University serves over 7,000 students annually through both general education, undergraduate, and graduate major courses. The department offers classes focusing on a variety of world regions and time periods. Degree requirements insure that majors become acquainted with the history of several regions and periods and that they develop skills in research and writing.
