Undergraduate Academic Enrichment Program
The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences
Undergraduate Academic Enrichment Program can provide undergraduate students
enrolled in programs in the
Program
Policies
·
Students
may receive funding for one activity per academic year.
·
All
application materials must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start
of the activity for which funding is being sought.
·
It
is the student’s responsibility to
ensure all materials are submitted in time for consideration.
·
Students
must apply individually to the program; no group applications will be accepted.
·
Instructors
taking a group of undergraduate students on a field trip may apply for funding
to assist with transportation or related costs.
·
Funds
are issued on a reimbursement basis or posted to the student’s financial aid
account.
·
Per
University policy, funds issued to students participating in study abroad and
internship programs for course credit must be applied to the student’s
financial aid account.
Application
Procedures
Undergraduate
students who wish to apply for academic enrichment support should submit the following to the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, Attn:
Academic Enrichment, 201 Woodburn Hall,

An
Academic Enrichment Program Application
o
to
be printed off, completed and turned in
§
A
one-page typed letter addressed to Dean Mary Ellen Mazey
o
describing
the activity you are proposing
o
explaining
why you believe this experience will enrich your undergraduate education
o
outlining
the overall budget for the activity
o
stating
the amount of support requested (maximum of $500 per activity)
§
A
Faculty Recommendation Form
o
form
may be completed by your academic advisor or WVU faculty member you are working
most closely with on the activity
It is
the applicant’s responsibility to make sure all items are submitted two
weeks prior to the event. If you
don’t follow this submission deadline, you will not be eligible.
The
Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Enrichment Program is supported by contributions to the College’s Centennial
Campaign. Students who participate in
the program should be willing, upon request, to write a letter describing to a
donor how support from this program contributed to their academic experience as
a major in the College. At the
completion of the activity, the student may also be required to submit a one or
two page report of
the
enrichment activity, if requested by the Dean.
