Bidialectalism Bidialectalism is the purported ability for one person to have two dialects at the same point in time. Since the 1960s in the US, bidialectalism has been seen as an educational goal for vernacular English speakers in the US. The links to the right provide some information on bidialectalism. A great deal more discussion about its educational uses can be found in excellent works such as Wolfram, Adger, and Christian's (1999) Dialects in Schools and Communities.
