No admissions tickets are required for the ceremony and reception, and there is no limit on the number of guests a degree candidate may bring with them to Commencement events. However, we do need degree candidates planning to participate to RSVP by May 2.

Every degree candidate will walk across the stage on the floor of the Coliseum to receive his or her diploma. All PhD and Master candidates will be hooded during the ceremony. Participants are required to provide own hood.

The ceremony will include a formal processional, remarks by keynote speaker, hooding of doctoral and master candidates, distribution of diplomas, singing of alma mater, and a formal recession.

At 1p.m. on May 18, degree candidates should report to 2nd floor Colisum above the Red Gate entrance to check-in at registration tables and line up for processional. Degree candidates will be lined-up for processional by department, then alphabetically within degree being conferred. (For example: Biology PHD candidates lined-up alphabetically by last name, followed by Biology MS candidates lined-up alphabetically by last name, followed by Biology BS candidates....etc.) If you are a double or triple major, there is a box on the RSVP form for you to indicate which department you wish to be placed with for the processional and conferring of
