New Physics Website

Club Update
The club now has a new advisor, Dr. James Lewis, and the department is hoping to update the club so that more physics students may enjoy it. New ideas are welcome fromm students for the creation of a more interactive club. This means that the club will have more of a social setting for students during physics club activities.

First News
Club meetings are every-other Monday in the Undergrad Physics Lounge, Rm 331 at 5pm. Food is provided, and the meetings last for about forty-five minutes.
The Next MEETING will be the this Monday, October 08, 2007. This meeting should be attended by all who have ideas for the club and want to be involved; however, if not able to attend, contact an Officer to discuss any ideas or plans of involvement. It is not required to attend, just recommended; since some have classes or other involvements at this time. Feel free to bring anything- food, ideas, humor to the first meeting. Any new members are welcome.

Undergraduate Lounge
The department supports the UnderGraduate room and any improvements or needs/ideas for the lounge may be discussed at the meetings. The lounge is for the students, so input is appreciated.

Photos
We Need some! The Dean has suggested taking photos of all the undergrads and placing them on a bulletin board in the lounge. This way, new students may meet to learn about the other physics majors in the department.

Outreach
This years outreach includes many old and new activities. First the Major Mania Week, Oct 23, we will have a table in the Mountainlair frmo 11-2. We need volunteers!!!! Also, Oct. 16 is a requested Mall trip for a few hours to give demos to children. All outreach ideas will be discussed at meetings. This is important, because we plan to have many programs to highschoolsthis spring.

Shirts
Need new design for T-shirts. Definately a better color scheme, and picture. These shirts may also be used for the basketball team, or any other physics activities. This will also be discussed at the first meeting.

Have a Great Semesterr, and hope to see you soon!
