Plant Systematics and Evolution
My research on plant systematics in the Department of Biology focuses on taxonomic and floristic botany, primarily in the herbarium context. My main interests are in systematics of the family Portulacaceae (purslanes), the flora of West Virginia, and plant collections management. Current projects involve monographic studies of Chilean species complexes (especially Calandrinia s.l.), investigations toward a revision of Strausbaugh & Core (1977), topics in computer database structure and analyses, and general issues related to herbarium curation.
