1999 Recipients

• Irene McKinney
  West Virginia Poet Laureate
  
  Irene McKinney, named West Virginia poet laureate in 1994, received the first Alumni Recognition Award on Jan. 30, 1999 during the College's annual Certificate of Achievement Ceremony. Since 1991 she has been associate professor and director of the creative writing program at West Virginia Wesleyan College.



• Alan D. Poling
  Professor of Psychology, Western Michigan University
  
  A preeminent behavioral psychologist at Western Michigan University, Alan D. Poling, will be honored on April 29, during the Eberly College's annual anniversary celebration, for his work in the fields of behavioral pharmacology and applied behavior analysis.



• Rebecca C. Cain
  President, National League of Women Voters
  
  Rebecca C. Cain is a former president of the League of Women Voters. A native of St. Albans, W.Va., Ms. Cain recently completed three terms as the league's president, during which she led the successful push for the National Voter Registration Act or "Motor Voter Act." Ms. Cain graduated in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in political science.
