Facility Enhancements

You will definitely want to visit the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences', state-of-the-art, remodeled campus facilities.

Brooks Hall

Brooks Hall reopened on July 2, 2007. A $28.8 million environmentally friendly, "green building" renovation project, it houses the Department of Geology and Geography.

Improvements include:

  • New computer and virtual reality labs
  • 350-seat auditorium/lecture hall
  • Wireless computer access
  • a “green roof” which reduces heating and cooling costs, increases the roof’s life span, filters pollutants, and reduces storm water runoff
  • Pedestrain bridge connecting the 5th Floor to the Woodburn Hall Promenade

 

 

Oglebay Hall

Oglebay Hall, one of ten campus buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, underwent a $23.5 million renovation. It houses the Forensic and Investigative Sciences Program, as well as the Office of Classroom Technology.

Featured improvements include:

  • Four new lecture halls and a rooftop parking deck
  • Two instructional Biology labs
  • Eight general purpose classrooms
  • Improved handicap access
  • State-of-the-art classroom technology

Colson Hall

Colson Hall

Colson Hall, formerly home to the WVU’s College of Law, now houses the Department of English.

Featured improvements include:

  • Refurbishment of the interior, with the impressive Neo-Classical Revival exterior remaining intact
  • State-of-the-art classroom technology
  • Upgrades to the heating/air conditioning and electrical systems to meet today's building and fire codes
