Undergraduate admission to WVU is based on a combination of your high school GPA and your highest composite ACT or SAT score. You also should have earned high school credit for the following: 4 units of English, 3 units of social science, 3 units of mathematics (algebra 1 and 2, geometry), 2 units of lab science (i.e. biology, chemistry, physics). Course work in foreign languages and computer science is recommended and some majors may require additional mathematics credit.
In-state students must earn a high school GPA of at least 2.0 and 910 SAT score or a 19 composite ACT score. Out-of-state students must earn a 2.25 GPA and a 950 SAT score or a 20 composite ACT score. Students interested in computer science, forensic and investigative science, or teacher education must meet higher requirements.
